AFDD (Arc Fault Detection Device)
Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear System

Information
An AFDD (Arc Fault Detection Device) is a protective device designed to detect and interrupt dangerous electrical arc faults in low voltage circuits, thereby reducing the risk of electrical fires caused by damaged wires, loose connections, or insulation failure.
AFDD continuously monitors the electrical waveform and identifies abnormal arc patterns such as:
Series arc faults (loose or broken conductor)
Parallel arc faults (between phase and neutral or earth)
When an arc fault is detected, the device automatically disconnects the circuit.
Key Functions
Protection against electrical fire hazards
Detection of series and parallel arc faults
Enhances overall installation safety
